SPIRAL SEA takes its name from the real sea
from which we all emerged: the sea of spacetime and other dimensions yet to be fathomed.
We who have collaborated to bring SS into being, are aiming for
a useful forum in which to explore the universe as we are slowly
coming to understand it--at many levels, from the cosmic to the
biological to the quantum mechanical to the warped woofery of
superstring theory.
In pursuit of this ambitious goal, we have
arranged to invite accountants, astronomers, backpackers, baseball
players, biologists, economists, ecdysiasts, fathers, fractalologists,
geneticists, gemologists, mathematicians, mothers, photographers,
physicists, scientists, sports fans, xerologists, xylophonists,
Zambizi descendants, zeitgeist propounders, and all manner of
folk in between, to present their thoughts, both factual and
fictional, on the general topic of understanding life in the
Spiral Sea.
We hope the coming issues will spark your
own interest in thinking through the meaning of life to modern
humanity, in the light of all that you may have learned from
your passage through it thus far. If you are also moved to pen
an essay or story to capture your vision for others to enjoy,
by all means have at it. And if you are further moved to send
it to us here at Spiral Sea, we await your enlightenment.

Paying the bills
As with any enterprise providing a service to its practicioners,
Spiral Sea achieves its global presentations through the use
of modern technology. In support of making that means available
to our authors and artists, we pay the bills--in part through
earnings from our Catalog
[still under construction--stay tuned!] of relevant and irrelevant
products and services offered by ourselves, our members, and
a select few outside parties. By all means, check them out. The
commercial products of a culture tell us much about its spirit
and direction. |
